Status Quo review

Status Quo

The only band in the history of rock to have come up with sixty six albums that have hit the hot charts of the music industry, Status Quo is truly remarkable. Facing hardships, going through hard times with flop after flop in consecutive three years, the band has truly risen like a prodigy. Through all the failures and frustrations they have survived and are today one of the most successful of all the bands present in rock.

Starting since in school, this band has come a long way, often changing sub genres for music. They were initially a rock band but then with the coming of the psychedelic genre they changed to it and hit success. Today they sing both rock as well as psychedelic rock to please their huge fan following.

From the inception of the band they have changed their names many times. Initially they were the “scorpions” and then turned to the “spectres”. However, with the change in genre, they became “traffic jam” and then ultimately to “quo”, “status quo”. Originated from England this is one of the best bands in the history of rock music.

Since 1962 they had been struggling with their performance and singing and they have hit a high only in the late 1967. After five years of struggle and non recognition, they have reached heights that they had never imagined. But it is all a thanks to two of the band members who had made a pact to stick by the band no matter what the situation.

The best rock they ever made came out with their contract with Vertigo in the 1970s and since then they have never looked back. “Piledriver” was their first venture under this company and it was released in the year 1972 and turned out to be a big hit. It was followed soon after by the “Blue for You” in 1976 and they started their climb to the top. At this point of time they were one of the top ranked rock bands in the UK and had a huge fan following not just in their own countries, but also in others as well. Hence the “Status Quo” set their own status quo.
